Pickled Vegetables
- 2 cups sliced vegetables(I used carrots, onion, and cucumbers)
- 3/4 cup warm water
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tbsp rice vinegar
Tofu Filling
- 1 cup sliced firm tofu
- 1/2 cup mushrooms
Sauce
- 2 tbsps dark soy sauce
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 1/2 tsp chinese five spice powder
- 1/2 tsp white pepper
- 1 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 tbsp sesame oil
Topping
- 1 tbsp crushed peanuts
- cilantro
Steamed Buns
- 7-10 store-bought steamed buns
Pickled Vegetables
Heat together the water, sugar, vinegar, and salt until dissolved.
Pour the warm mixture over the sliced vegetables, then set aside. Let cool in the refrigerator until assembly time.
Assembly
Layer the tofu, pickled vegetables, cilantro, and chopped peanuts in the steamed bun. Repeat for all the steamed buns. Serve and enjoy!
